When she was 3 days old, her parents moved into the newly completed home. She received her education in the local schools and was active in the work of the Methodist church of which she was a member.

She was married to Gabriel Olson of Bolan, IA on October 14, 1900. Mr. Olson died at the hospital in Hampton, IA, September 22, 1926. Mathilda later married Frank Eukel.

She is survived by her husband, Frank, three sisters: Mrs. Julia DuShane and Mrs. Helene Ellingson of Osage, IA and Mrs. Della Sedlacek of St. Ansgar, IA

Mrs. Eukel became ill with tuberculosis about two years ago and nine weeks before her death she entered a sanatorium at Davenport where she died. Except for five or six years in Bolan she was a resident of this community all her life.
