PNEUMONIA CLAIMS LIFE OF
GUNDER ELLINGSON, 59Death came as the result of double pneumonia which followed a major operation, to Gunder Ellingson at the age of 59 Thursday of last week. Mr. Ellingson died at St. Olaf hospital at Austin, MN. Funeral services were conducted Sunday at the home and at the Deer Creek Lutheran church with the Rev. Henry Noss of Austin officiating.
Mr. Ellingson was well known in this community as he spent his entire life here. He was born May 2, 1878, the youngest son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Bjorn Ellingson, on the Ellingson homestead which has been his home until April of this year when he retired from the farm.
Surviving are his wife, the former Barbara Thorson of St. Ansgar, Iowa; two daughters, Mrs. R.G. Ause of Minneapolis; Larry at home; five sons: Walter of Northwood, Victor, St. Ansgar, Benford and Leland of Carpenter and Glen at home. Two brothers: Elling of Carpenter, Ole of Austin, MN; and one sister Mrs. Andrew Severson of Carpenter also survive.
