Funeral services for Mrs. Tom (Bessie) Lenz, 91, who died October 14 in St. Ansgar, were held Tuesday, October 18 at the United Methodist church here, with the Rev. Loyd Johnson officiating.

Mrs. Lenz was born June 28, 1892 to William and Catherine May, near Columbus, Ohio. She was married to Tom Lenz on February 26, 1921. They lived in the Otranto area for many years.

In 1951 they moved to an acreage near St. Ansgar, Iowa, where they did truck farming -- retiring to St. Ansgar 10 years ago. Because of failing health, they lived the last six years in the Good Samaritan Center here.

Mrs. Lenz is survived by her husband, Tom; by three sons: Thomas D. of Houston, Texas; Roger of Riceville; Dick of Hutchinson, Minnesota; by two daughters: Mrs. Don (Marlese) Fredericks of Rantoul, Illinois; and Mrs. Al (Bonnie) Gemaehlich, Mason City; by 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; by three sisters: Hazel Pettitt of Austin, Minnesota; Viola DOckstader, St. Ansgar; and by Mrs. Glen (Susie) Byington of Plymouth.

Burial was in the St. Ansgar cemetery with Rev. Johnson in charge of committal services.
