Funeral services for John A. Jacobson, 89, who died January 14 at Mitchell County Memorial hospital, were held Monday, January 17 at Six Mile Grove Lutheran Church with the Rev. Gaylord Grant officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

John A. Jacobson, son of Jacob and Mary (Anderson) Jacobson, was born November 13, 1887 in Nevada Township, Mower County, one ofa family of 14 children. He attended school in Nevada Township.

October 2, 1912 he was married to Clara Morstad. They established their home on a farm east of Rose Creek where they lived their entire married life. His wife died June 29, 1960 and he continued to make his home there until six years ago. December 31, 1976 he entered the Osage Nursing home in Osage.

John and Clara were lifelong members of Six Mile Grove Lutheran church and he served on the Rose Creek school board for a number of years.

He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Richard (Armeda) Olson of Lyle; six grandchildren, Mrs. Harlan (LaVonne) Landehoff and Mrs. Bernard (Diane) Larson of North Bend, Neb.; Mrs. Larry (Joan) Blake of Stacyville; Mrs. Paul (Ramona) Wynia of Lake Mills; Richard and Ronald Olson of Lyle; one sister, Mrs. Ibert (Laura) Hofland.
