Charles Wolff was born in Germany, May 14, 1842, and died at his home in Little Cedar, February 17, 1899.

Mr. Wolff grew to manhood among the scenes of his boyhood. Then like so many thousands of his countrymen he decided to seek a home in the New World. Accordingly he came to America and lived for three or four years in New York state. In 1872 he came to Iowa and Mitchell County has since been his home.

Mr. Wolff was married twice. By his first wife he had eight children, five boys and three girls, seven who survive him. On May 15, 1892, he was united in marriage to Mrs. Kearny who survives him.

Mr. Wolff was a quiet industrious man, a good citizen, a kind neighbor a faithful husband and a loving father. For some years his health has not been good. For several weeks he was in a critical condition, but all the time he was cheerful and hopeful. On Friday morning he quietly passed away.

The funeral service was held on Sabbath afternoon in the Baptist church of Little Cedar under the direction of Rev. W. W. Gist. Mr. Wolff was well and favorable known in the community and the services were largely attended.
