DIED - In the mountains - We regret to learn of the death of our esteemed young friend, George Chambers in the mountains of Montana, where he went to regain his failing health accompanied by his brother Fred. But alas, the invigorating atmosphere of that region failed to help him.

George was one of the promising young men of the county and his death will be deeply mourned by a host of warm friends.

Last winter during the revival meeting at West Mitchell he experienced a change of heart and united with the Baptist Church of that place. He died the death of the righteous. His reward is eternal bliss. We deeply condole with the bereaved friends in this their great tribulation.

~Mitchell County Press, Thursday, November 21, 1872

Notes:
- Although he appears on the burial list of the Oak Grove cemetery on a FindaGrave memorial, that memorial also gives death place as Mitchell county. There is no photo of his gravestone or other documentation that his remains were brought from Montana for burial there. He also appears on Mitchell County WPA records as buried in Oak Grove. Interested researchers should verify burial was actually made in Oak Grove cemetery.
