Last Monday a young child of P.S. Eastman was fatally scalded, from the affects of which the little sufferer died on Tuesday. The child was trying to climb up on to a bench, and falling, received the contents of a dish of hot water, in which Mrs. Eastman had been scalding chickens, burning it in a frightful manner about the head and shoulders. Medical aid was of no avail.

The afflicted parents have the sympathy of the entire community in this sad affliction.
