Died - August 10th, 1879, Mary, oldest daughter of Patrick and Mary Egan, aged 5 years and 11 months.

Her disease was diptheria, no medical aid could save her. She was attended by Dr. Chase until the last moment.

Little Mamie was the light of her father's house, a beautiful, bright little girl, and her death is a terrible loss to her parents, her little bother, and two little sisters, who have just recovered from the dread disease.

She was buried in the Catholic cemetery at Stacyville. Rev. Father Hyligar performed the burial service at the Stacyville church, with impressive ceremonies.
