Allan John Krahenbuhl, 73, passed away December 11, 2020 at Mayo Clinic Health System in LaCrosse, WI. He was born October 20, 1947, to Roscoe and Mabel (Torney) Krahenbuhl, in Mason City, Iowa.
Allan grew up on farms in Iowa and Wisconsin prior to starting his construction career with his older brothers, Lynn and Larry. He obtained the status of Master builder while proudly working for Northland Builders of Northwood, IA. for 28 years. Allan was a skilled carpenter and foreman and finished his career as a construction supervisor building steel Butler buildings. In his spare time, he loved gardening and fishing and enjoyed a couple fishing trips to Canada. He was a quiet and humble man. He would have done anything to help anyone when they needed it when he was able. The past 16 years following his stroke were tough, but he always found his new normal and fought a valiant fight to the end.
Allan is survived by his children, Melissa Brown of Reedsburg, WI; Amy (Mike) Hedrick of Norwalk, WI: Nicole Krahenbuhl of Tomah, WI: Nicholas Krahenbuhl of Ankeny, Iowa; and Heather (Dan) Comis of Bloomsberg, PA; six grandchildren, Andrea (Ryan) Martin, Katie (Ian Bohn) Hedrick, Sam and Anthony "Manny" Hedrick, Dylan and Kaylee Krahenbuhl; siblings, Fred(Paula), Russell, Charlie (Carol), Cindy (Doug) Vimpany and Jimmy; sister-in-law, Gladys "Tiny", Frieda and Sheryl, brother-in-law, Ed Burke, along with many other relatives and friends.
Allan was preceded in death by his parents, Roscoe and Mabel; siblings, Lynn, Larry, Martin and Crystal "Sue" Burke and sister-in-law Sylvia and Barb Krahenbuhl.
Allan held a special place in his heart for Chris and Rose Krahenbuhl family, Harry and Marguerite Friedl, Judy (Charles) Lydon, John Friedl, Jim (Sue) Friedl, Misty (Krause) Noronha and Jeremy Krause.
A Memorial service will be held April 17, 2021 at the Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home in St. Ansgar, Iowa with Rev. Lance Kittleson officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Ansgar City Cemetery. Family will host a luncheon following the burial at the American Legion Post for family and friends.
