Funeral services for Adolf R. Mueller, 82, who died at the St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Center November 23, 1974 were held November 25, 1974 at the Immanuel Lutheran church with the Rev. Norman Betke officiating.

Adolf Robert Hugo Mueller was born in St. Ansgar August 1, 1892, the son of William and Clara (Falk) Mueller. He was baptized August 21, 1974 at Immanuel Lutheran church here by Rev. Hantel, and was confirmed March 24, 1907 by the Rev. Paul Brammer. He attended St. Ansgar schools and was graduated from St. Ansgar High School in 1916.

He worked for the Falk-Hansen Co. and also was clerk in the general store of H. E. Falk Co. here, and for several years worked in a large clothing store in Dubuque.

He served his country in the U.S Army in World War I and as a member of the 90th Division saw action in Europe. He served in various occupations and worked at various trades following the war.

On November 18, 1919 he married Rose A. Bernstein. One son, Beryl, was born to them. For 24 years he was associated with the Bernstein Hardware store here until his retirement in 1966.

Mr. Mueller was a member of the Walter T. Enneberg Post No. 358 of the American Legion and in 1959 received the first American Legion Life Membership issued in Mitchell county. He was a lifelong member of the Immanuel Lutheran church and served as a Voting Member and on various congregational committee over the years.

He suffered from emphysema which was due to a weakened lung condition as a result of enemy gassing during World War I. He is survived by his wife, Rose of St. Ansgar, one brother, Wilmer of St. Ansgar and one sister, Mrs. Bernice Tait of Mason City; nieces and nephews and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Beryl who died in 1937; his parents, four brothers, Richard, Oscar, Lloyd and Claire, one sister, Esther.

Burial was in the St. Ansgar cemetery with the Rev. Betke in charge of the committal services. Military honors were presented by the Honor Squad of the local American Legion Post.
