An Osage Missionary Dies in Turkey.
Osage News—Friends in Osage will be grieved to learn of the death in far-off Turkey in Asia, of Mrs. Ida Nakashian, nee Ida Mellinger, who formerly lived in this city and at one time an employe of the News office. She was a young lady, well known in this section, prior to her going to Armenia as missionary. She was engaged in missionary work in that troublesome country for nine years and during the Turkish troubles in Armenia, barely escaped with her life, using strategy to escape the murderous hands of the Turks. About a year ago Miss Mellinger was married to a Christian Turk by the name of Nakashian, and prepared to spend the rest of her life at Adana, a small place In Turkey in Asia. Her death resulted from heart troubles, with which she was affected for many years. She was sent out by the Congregational Missionary Society of this country, and did good work among the Armenian sufferer.
