Dorine “Suzi” Thurnau, age 90, of Osage, died Thursday December 5, 2019, at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center-ER in Osage.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 10, 2019, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Osage, with Rev. Cindy S. Krause officiating. There will be a gathering of family and friends from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday before the service in the church narthex. Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Orchard Cemetery.
Suzi was born March 5, 1929, in Osage, the daughter of John and Corinne (Morse) Grinstead. She graduated from the Orchard High School in Orchard. Suzi was united in marriage to Leslie Thurnau on August 16, 1947, at the Congregational Church in Osage. They lived in Osage, their entire marriage, where Suzi worked at numerous places. They wintered for seven years in Brownsville, Texas. She loved dancing and in her younger years she enjoyed camping. Most of all, Suzi loved spending time with her family, especially during the holidays.
Suzi is survived by her husband of 72 years, Leslie Thurnau of Osage; son, Aaron (Marlys) Thurnau of St. Ansgar; son, Lonnie Thurnau of Osage; daughter, Crystal Patrick of Osage; five grandchildren, Tanya (Terry) Adams, Molly Kennedy, Jay (Michele) Kisner, Casey (Steph) Thurnau, and Tylor Patrick; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lynda (Joe) Retterath of Eagan, Minnesota, and Ruth Johnson of Osage; three brothers, Jack Grinstead of Idaho, Richard Grinstead of Arizona, and David Grinstead of Idaho.
Suzi is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; and five brothers.
