Betty Dieterich, age 87, of Osage, Iowa, died Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at MercyOne North Iowa Hospice in Mason City, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2019, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Osage with the Rev. Cindy S. Krause and Rev. Bryan Odeen officiating. Burial will be at the Osage Cemetery. Visitation is from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.
Betty was born December 1, 1931, in Osage, Iowa, the daughter of Link and Anna (Dorgeloh) Mathiesen. She attended Osage schools graduating in 1949. Betty then attended Business School in Mankato, Minnesota. She then worked at Standard Oil in Mason City and the Mitchell County Press News in Osage. Betty was united in marriage to Hubert Dieterich on May 23, 1953 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Osage.
She enjoyed being a homemaker on the family farm and having coffee with friends at Hardees.
Betty was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and also was a member of the Our Savior’s Lutheran Ladies Circle.
Betty is Survived by her son. Gary (Deanna) Dieterich of Osage; her grandson, Curtis Dieterich of Cedar Falls; sister, Irene Thompson; nephews, Douglas, Dennis and David Thompson, Maurice, Mike and Jim Dieterich and one niece, Debra Barclay.
She was preceded in death her parents; her husband, Hubert in 2010: sister, Doris North; brothers-in-law, Dean Thompson and Martin North, Jr.; nephew, Darwin Thompson.
