March 27, 1933 - May 5, 2019

Marcella E. Linkenmeyer, age 86 of Riceville, Iowa, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2019 at the Riceville Family Care and Therapy Center in Riceville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am Friday, May 10 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Riceville with Fr. Jerry Kopacek officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Riceville. Friends may call from 4 to 7 pm Thursday, May 9th at the Lindstrom Funeral Home in Riceville where there will be a Parish Scripture Service at 6:45 pm. Friends may also call at the church on Friday morning for an hour prior to Mass.

Marcella was born on the Keniry family farm, south of Dougherty, Iowa on March 27, 1933 to Ralph Titus and Mary Agnes (Redding) Keniry. She graduated from the Sheffield High School in Sheffield, Iowa. Marcella moved to Riceville with her parents in the early 1950s, living north of the Acme Store.

On June 8, 1955 she was united in marriage to Calvin Linkenmeyer at Immaculate conception Catholic Church in Riceville and they made their home on a farm in the Riceville/Acme area, where they farmed together for 64 plus years.

Marcella is survived by three children: Trent (Janet) Linkenmeyer of Riceville, Jane Throckmorton of Riceville and Janet Linkenmeyer of Osage; nine grandchildren: Nicole O’Malley of Osage, Michell (Brandon) Soltau of St. Ansgar, Amber (Josh) Tabbert, of Osage, Dallas (Becca) Linkenmeyer, of Riceville, Rachel (Jared) Kulow of Riceville, Kirsten Linkenmeyer of Osage, Logan (Dommie) Linkenmeyer of Clear Lake, Lacy Shea of Austin and Cody Shea of Austin; 19 great-grandchildren.

Marcella was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Calvin in 2017, a great-grandson, Jewell and a sister.
