Nathan's Obituary

Nathan John Mullenbach, 84, of Adams Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 24, 2019, after a six week battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia at the Stacyville nursing home surrounded by his family.

Nathan was born September 9, 1934, in Adams Township to Paul and Mary (Juenger) Mullenbach. He attended Johnsburg grade school and graduated from Adams High School in 1952. After graduation, he worked on the family farm just north of Johnsburg. His father was killed in an auto accident in October 1952. He then farmed with his mother, Mary, until he purchased the farm in 1962.

On September 17, 1957, Nathan married Dorothy Rauen at Visitation Catholic Church, Stacyville, Iowa. They lived on the Mullenbach family farm for 40 years. In 1997 they moved to Adams. Nathan was a proud dairy farmer, Johnsburg Cemetery plot keeper for 20 years, and Catholic United Financial member. He enjoyed playing cards with family, friends, and all his grandchildren, going to grandkids events, a good card game of Solo, occasional casino slots, fishing and bus trips with friends. Even after moving to Adams, he enjoyed going to the family farm to help his son Gary.

Nathan is survived by his wife Dorothy, married for 62 years; daughter, Cher (Mark) Weness of Rose Creek; sons: Kevin (Sue) of Austin, Brian (Darcy) of Stewartville, and Gary (Kelly) of Johnsburg; eight grandchildren: Hilary (Jayme) Underwood, Erick (Lisa) Weness, Kyle, Katie, Danielle, Chelsey (Drew) Gappa, Garret, and Josh; seven great-grandchildren: Charlea, Halle, Tess, Ava, Layna, Kaden and Levi; one brother, Leon (Johnni) of Red Wing, Minnesota; in-laws: Marilyn (Larry) Motzer of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; Ruth Jones of Tooele, UT.; Gene (Marcia) Rauen of Austin, Minnesota; and Don King of Hastings, Minnesota.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Friday, March 29 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Adams with Father Swaminatha Pothireddy officiating.
