Phyllis Jean Brandau

Phyllis Jean Brandau, age 72, of Osage, died Wednesday, February 6, 2019, at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center - Hospice Unit, in Osage, Iowa.

Honoring Phyllis’ wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services.

Phyllis was born April 22, 1946, the daughter of August and Melba (Bruesewitz) Benker. She attended school in Mitchell and graduated from Osage High School. She then completed her LPN schooling at NIACC. Phyllis was married to Donald Brandau, and to this union three children were born, they later divorced.

She worked as a LPN, at various nursing homes in Minnesota and Iowa, including both the Faith Lutheran Home and Osage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Osage. Phyllis enjoyed spending time with her friend Clark, they attended various activities. She liked to sew, crochet and cook, but most of all she loved babysitting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Phyllis is survived by, her children, Allen (Elizabeth) Brandau of Savannah, Georgia, Carolyn Brandau of Omaha, Nebraska, and Emmalee (Eric) Ross of Osage; three grandchildren, Rebecca (Bryan) Weber of Osage, Christopher (Emily) Deetz of Rockford and Adrian Ross of Osage; three great-grandchildren, Ahna, Adyson and William; sister, Shirley (Charlie) Bentley of Centerville; and special friend, Clark Young of Osage.

She was preceded in death by, her parents and a great-granddaughter, Bryanna.
