A Fatal Accident.
It is with sorrow we are called upon to record the death of Mrs. Edna Radford, of Riceville, who was here visiting her sister, Mrs. G. L. Brown. The facts of the case as near as we can ascertain, just before going to press are as follows:
Mr. and Mrs. Radford came here from Riceville, on Saturday, to visit the latter’s sister, Mrs. G. L. Brown. On Wednesday night Mrs. Radford arose to go into another room, and in coming back must have missed her footing, falling down stairs. When picked up she was unconscious and died in about fifteen minutes of concussion of the brain. She was 65 years of age, and highly esteemed and respected by all. We tender our sincere sympathy to the bereaved relatives.—LeRoy Independent.

Chester.
F. O. Brown of Chester received a telephone message Thursday that his aunt Mrs. Stephen Radford who was yis{i}ting her sister, Mr.Brown’s mother at LeRoy, fell down stairs and struck her head on the door causing concussion of the brain and only lived 15 minutes. Mr. and Mrs. Radford will he remembered as among the earliest settlers of Howard county having lived in Chester over thirty years, Just how the accident happened no one can tell. It happened about 3 o’clock a. m. Thursday morning. She leaves quite a family to mourn her loss beside several grand children, two sisters and a brother Robert Elliott of Rockford, Ill.

Transcriber's Note: Find-A-Grave shows she is buried at Riverside Cemetery and that she was born June 21, 1835 and died February 21, 1901.
