STACYVILLE – Maynard J. Theobald, 81, of Stacyville, was accepted into God’s loving arms on Friday, October 19, 2018, at the Stacyville Nursing Home. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 24, with Father Raymond Burkle officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 23. Maynard was born on August 31, 1937 to Wilfred and Agnes (Brumm) Theobald. He was a graduate of Visitation High School and spent two years in the Army. Maynard married Aggie Koenigs on August 13, 1960, in Meyer, Iowa. They had five children and raised their family in Stacyville.
Maynard worked as a carpenter for many years and then managed the Lumber Co. He was a member of the American Legion Post #569 and was involved in Foresters and the church choir. He loved baseball and golf and tried to get to all events his children and grandchildren were in whether it be sports or music. He could always be heard while watching a good football game. It could be encouraging…or possibly not!
He is survived by his wife, Aggie; children: Tom (Juli), Julie (Joel) Kruger, Jim (Holly), Dan (Lenore) and Troy (Amber); by nine grandchildren: Kory Kruger, Kelsi (Tyler) Tews, Michelle (Clint) Perkins, T.J Theobald, Jacob, J.J. and Jessica Theobald, and Trevor and Cody Theobald; by six great-grandchildren, Seth and Mary Perkins, and Dylan, Baker, Caebri and Emberlee Tews, siblings, Myrna (Chuck) Blake and Del (Bev); sister-in-law, Delores; and many special nieces and nephews.
He is reunited in eternal life with his parents and one brother, Lloyd.
