W. James “Jim” Fox, age 88, of Osage and formerly of New Haven, died Friday June 22, 2018 at his home in Osage.
Cremation has taken place.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at the Columbus Club of Osage, 1403 State Street, Osage. A private inurnment service will be held at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery in New Haven. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be given to the Osage Community Day Care.
Jim Fox was born December 18, 1929, on the family farm near New Haven. He was the son of Walter and Ruth (Gray) Fox. He attended and graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in New Haven. Jim was united in marriage to Dorothy Dunlay on August 19, 1950, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in New Haven. He was a farmer, a board member of the Howard County Equity Co-Op, and a 4-H leader.
Jim is survived by his wife, Dorothy Fox of Osage; seven children, Connie Lievrouw of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Nancy (Pete) Hamilton of Westminster, Colorado, Nick (Jane) Fox of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Kevin (Kathy) Fox of New Haven, Terry (Lori) Fox of Peyton, Colorado, Laurie Boehmer (special friend, Bruce Small) of Osage and Greg (Karmen) Fox of Sherman Oaks, California; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Tom (Bunny) Fox of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Dorothy Popp of Osage, Carolyn (Dwayne) Johnson of Osage, Joe (Kathy) Fox of Newport Beach, California, and Ed (Donna) Fox of Fort Mills, South Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Kenneth Fox; two sisters, Marjorie Lewis Pelleymounter and Marian Fox; brothers-in-law, Mel Popp, Robert Lewis, Roman Pelleymounter; son-in-law, Merle Boehmer.
