Souce: Twice-A-Week Plain Dealer August 14, 1900, FP, C5
The attempted suicide near Riceville which we reported a week ago was that of Charley Garmon and his 30 year old son, who lived a few miles south of Riceville. The poison was a caustic dehorning fluid which caused some suffering of both and the ultimate death of the son. Temporary insanity of the the{sic} father on the death of wife and another son recently is supposed to be the cause. The son was an invalid and easily influenced to the act by his father.
