Judy Alice Brockney

Judy Alice Brockney, age 73, of Osage, Iowa, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota.

A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at Sacred Heart Parish Hall in Osage with Father Raymond Burkle presiding. Burial will be at the Riverside Cemetery in Riceville. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with a rosary at 5:15 p.m. There will also be visitation at the Sacred Heart Parish Hall one hour prior to the Funeral Mass on Tuesday.

Judy was born August 3, 1944, in Owatonna, Minnesota, the daughter of Joseph and Bessie (Cepelak) Vacko. She graduated from Dodge Center High School in 1962. Judy was united in marriage to Duane Brockney on June 24, 1967, at St. John Baptiste de La Salle Catholic Church in Dodge Center. She worked for many years at St. Marys Hospital and she then was employed at the Daylight Store, Coast to Coast and the greenhouse, all in Osage. Judy was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic. She loved flowers and enjoyed doing crafts, sewing and watching the Minnesota Vikings and Iowa Hawkeyes.

Judy is survived by her husband, Duane Brockney of Osage; sister, Margaret Vote of Riceville; brother, Edward (Maria) Vacko of Bloomington, Minnesota; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister and one brother.
