Funeral service will be on Friday, April 13, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar. Visitation is scheduled on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home.

Obituary---
Dennis J. Hemann, resident of St. Ansgar, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, April 8th at Faith Lutheran Home in Osage, Iowa, at the age of 65 years. He was born in Osage on December 21, 1952 to Cletus and Kathleen (Milbrandt) Hemann and grew up in Meyer, Iowa.
He graduated from Riceville, Iowa, in 1971. After graduating, he served in the Navy before returning back to the Osage area.
He was married to Katherine (Riste) on October 19th, 1973 in Cresco, IA. They spent several years working on various local farms around the Lyle, MN area until her passing in 1998.
Later in life, Dennis worked at local bars, doing what he loved, being around people. He appreciated a good conversation with anyone. He would give anything for the people whom he cared for.
Dennis was a passionate Vikings fan. When he owned a bar in St. Ansgar, his dedication to the Vikings was proudly displayed. He enjoyed his time there and became well-liked by all who came into his bar. He was always up to a game of cribbage or pool.
On May 4th, 2013, he married Kelly (Voshell) where they enjoyed playing cards and being with their friends. Together they worked to run his bar until her passing in 2014.
He will be sadly missed by his son J.T. (Trina) Hemann of Big Lake, MN; his daughters Becky (Rob) Teed of Colfax, IA and Heidi (Jon) Wendel of Hastings, MN; his grandchildren Ben, Parker, Tysen, and Kassey. His mom Kathleen of Osage, IA; his brothers Richard (Judy), Duane (Terrie), Norman, Larry (Karen), all of Osage; his sister Lavonne (Larry) Heimer of St. Charles, MN. And numerous aunts & uncles, nieces & nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father Cletus, wife Katherine, and wife Kelly.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 12th from 4pm-7pm at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home 207 South School Street St. Ansgar, IA 50472. There will be a service held at Schroeder & Sites at 1pm on Friday, April 13th. A private burial will be held at a later time.
