OBITUARY
Sever Thompson who has languished on that bed of suffering for so many months passed from this world of pain January 27, 1903. Mr. Thompson has been confined to his bed since last May being afflicted with a lingering form of that dreaded disease, consumption. Thorough the many weary hours he was a patient sufferer.
Sever Thompson was born in Norway November 24, 1865. Here he lived until he was seventeen years old when he came with his parents to America. They made Decorah, Iowa their first stopping place. Afterwards he went with his parents to Minneapolis, and from there to Lyleton, South Dakota where he took a claim. April 11, 1888 he was united in marriage to Miss Lena Anderson also from Lyleton. They made Dakota their home for some time but about ten years ago they moved to Mitchel county where they have since made their home.
By his death three little children are left fatherless. They are one boy aged thirteen and two younger children age six and four. Besides these, he leaves a wife, also a mother and brothers and sisters. The funeral was held at the Norwegian Lutheran church in St. Ansgar January 29. The services were conducted by Rev O. Waldeland and the remains were laid to rest in the N.L. cemetery in St. Ansgar.
