OSAGE, IOWA - Wayne Lee Jones, 87, died on Sunday, February 25, 2018, at Faith Lutheran Home, Osage.

A family service is planned. Burial will be in the First Lutheran Cemetery, St. Ansgar, Iowa.

Wayne Jones

June 23, 1930 - February 25, 2018

OSAGE, IOWA- Wayne Lee Jones, 87 of Rudd, Iowa, died on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at the Faith Lutheran Home, Osage, Iowa.

There will be a public visitation from 12:30 to 1:30 PM on Thursday, March 1, 2018, at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar, Iowa, followed by a private family service. Burial will be in the First Lutheran Cemetery, St. Ansgar.

Wayne was born on June 23, 1930 in Franklin County, Iowa. He was the son of Milford Lee and Lucille (Urban) Jones.

He graduated from Rudd High School. On July 20, 1952 he was united in marriage to Carol (Kittleson).

Wayne was a very humble, soft spoken person who found delight in life's simple things. He was a good neighbor to many and would help friends at the drop of the hat.

He was a hard working crop and dairy farmer and loved animals, especially horses, dogs and cats. He enjoyed doing projects with his backhoe and had a knack for fixing things.

Wayne was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Osage and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He fully understood this temporary earthly home and made it clear that he accepted the Lord's saving grace.

Living family members include his wife, Carol; two children, LeRoy Jones of Floyd and Lori (Andy) Aird of Charles City, Iowa; four grandchildren: Heather Jones of Rudd, Duane Jones of Kansas City, MO., Lisa (Mitch) Blair of Cedar Falls, Ia. Amy Aird of Grimes, Ia.; one great-grandchild; one sister, Charlotte (Jerry) Meitner of St. Ansgar.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; son Kevin Jones; grandchild Kris Jones; sister Beverly Moss and her husband Bill; brothers-in-law: Galen, Marlin, James and LeRoy Kittleson and Dale Johnson; and by sisters-in-law, Shirley and Charlotte Kittleson.
