Funeral services for Mrs. Hannah A. Thompson, 89, who died at her farm home in Otranto township December 17, 1975 were held December 19 at Our Savior's Lutheran church in Lyle with the Rev. Harold Luecke officiating.
Hannah Annette Thompson was born January 11, 1886, the daughter of Halvor and Anna Hansen in Otranto township on the family farm where she died. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church and received her education at Oak Lane Rural School.
On May 23, 1909 she married Oscar Thompson. One daughter, Mrs. Clifford (Avanelle) Nelson, was born to them. The first few months of their marriage was spent in Mason City before returning to the Hansen farm which became their permanent residence.
Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sisters two brothers and a nephew.
She is survived by her daughter, Avanelle, one granddaughter, Merna Nelson o Minneapolis, one nephew. Beaman Sherman of Helena, Montana, one sister-in-law, Miss Josie Thompson of Madison, Wisconsin.
Burial was in the First Lutheran cemetery in St. Ansgar with Rev. Luecke in charge of the committal services.
