Janice Ann Banks, 70, of Osage, Iowa, died Monday, January 29, 2018 at Osage Rehabilitation and Health Center. Cremation has taken place.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 9, 2018 at the New Covenant Fellowship Church, 2098 335th St., rural Osage, with Pastor Steven White officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date. Following the service there will be a time of food and fellowship at the church.

Janice was born November 17, 1947, in Jacks, Alabama. She was the daughter of Joseph and Lucille (Willis) Banks. She received her G.E.D in 1970 and attended Culinary School in 1998. Janice married Willey Devon Hartzog on September 26, 1964 at the Pastor’s home in Tarpon Springs, Florida, to this union three children were born. They later divorced.

Janice worked at the New Port Richey Community Hospital in New Port Richey, Florida. She was member of The First Baptist Church of New Port Richey, Florida. Janice loved camping, fishing, teaching her grandkids to cook and spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed eating cornbread with buttermilk and scallions and divinity candy.

She is survived by her children, Vickie Schulz, Cassondra (Brad) Guibas and Jovon (Karen) Hartzog; five grandchildren, Mandy Everett, Dakota Schulz, David White, Bobby Hartzog and Joey Hartzog; four great-grandchildren; and her ex-husband, Willey D. Hartzog.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents; brother Melvin Banks; and son-in-law, Ricky Schulz.
