Rosemary Borchardt, age 93, of Osage, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at Faith Lutheran Home in Osage.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 20, 2018, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Osage with Rev. Cindy S. Krause officiating. Burial will be at the Osage Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. Following the burial there will be a time of fellowship and lunch at the church.
Rosemary was born November 29, 1924, in Osage the daughter of Leslie and Alma (Cornell) Hills. The family moved to Grand Rapids and Minneapolis, Minnesota, at a young age she began school in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. Five years later they moved back to Osage where she lived all her life.
She graduated from Osage High School with class of 1942. Rosemary was united in marriage to Merland Borchardt on March 20, 1943 at the Osage Lutheran Church in Osage. They farmed west of Osage for many years and later moved to a farm east of Osage where they farmed as partners until retiring in 1989 and moving to Osage.
Rosemary was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church for 75 years, Osage American Legion Auxiliary and Sunny Brae Country Club. They enjoyed retirement and traveled thru out the United States and two trips to Europe. They enjoyed playing bridge, golfing, camping trips, dancing and socializing with their large group of friends.
Rosemary is survived by her daughters, Jane Weaver of Mason City, Bette Jo Nelson and her husband Tom of Osage; grandchildren, Tony Lack of San Antonio, Texas, Tanya (Shawn) Hamilton of Dallas, Texas, Jennifer Kinyaiya of Houston, Texas, Brent (Sarah) Weaver of Tomball, Texas, Mark (Catey) Nelson of San Diego, California; five great-grandchildren, Manuel, La Quetta, Madaleine, Grant and Ciara Weaver; one great-great-grandchild, Peyton Weaver; special friend, Melba Leidall of Osage;sister-in-law, Joanne Borchardt of Holland, Iowa; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Merland in 2001; two brothers, Bruce Hills during the Korean War and Jim Hills; son-in-law, Francis (Butch) Weaver; and special aunt, Leora Stearns.
