Grafton, Iowa - Darlo Aloysius Koster, 62, died at his home on Sunday, October 8, 2017. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar, with Rev. Lance Kittleson officiating. A visitation will take place at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00.
Darlo was born in Freeman, South Dakota, on April 3, 1955 to Aloysius and Adella (Graber) Koster. The family moved to Otranto, Iowa in 1958 where he grew up and enjoyed his youth. He graduated from St. Ansgar High School in 1973. Darlo held various jobs throughout his life from driving truck to farming to making candy. For Darlo being outdoors was a passion, he loved to fish and camp, gopher hunt, and spend time in his man cave. Some of Darlo's hobbies included traveling, woodworking, junking, NASCAR (Dale, Jr.), snowmobiling and four wheeling with the grandkids.
Darlo is survived by his wife, Cathy (Flugge); children, Jeremy of Northwood, Chad of St. Ansgar, Jennifer (Bounnakhom) of Minneapolis and Jessica (Reyes) of Blue Eye, and step son Eric Nichols (Nichole) of Virginia Beach; Brothers Kevin (Delores) and Mick; sisters, Pat Sinwell, Alouise Anderson, Judy Olson (Tiny Johnson), Margo Grimm (KenRowley), Kim Krahenbuhl (Roscoe); Grandkids- Jacob, Austin, Hunter Koster, Lacey Olson, Tiffany Bounnakhom, Orion and Jordan Koster, Kendra and Sarah Bell Tuttle, and Carson Nichols. Fur baby, Tobias, his favorite cat. Along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Bille Goodew; nephew, Travis Grimm; brother in laws, Russ Anderson and Jim Olson.
