Marjorie Hewitt, age 88, of Osage, died Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at the Osage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Osage.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 8, 2017, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage, with Pastor David A. Werges and Deacon Elayne J. Werges officiating. Burial will be at the Osage Cemetery. Visitation is from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Friday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home.
Marjorie was born August 4, 1928, at Lawler, Iowa, the daughter of John and Flossie Marie (Wanderschied) Donovan. She graduated from New Hampton High School in 1947.
Marjorie married Herbert Hewitt on April 14, 1948, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. They lived in New Hampton until 1960, when they moved to Mason City. In 1965, they moved to Osage. Marjorie worked as a cook and waitress at the Gingham Inn in Osage.
Marjorie is survived by four sons, Ronald (Dori) Hewitt of Honduras, Melvin (Penny) Hewitt of Rock Island, Illinois, Michael (Debra) Hewitt of Dallas, Texas, Dale Hewitt of Osage; a daughter, Karen (Steve) Hipp of Washington, Illinois; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Amy Dixon of Mason City and Patricia Bolton of Sioux City, South Dakota.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herbert Hewitt in 1996; a son, Larry Hewitt; a daughter, Margaret Ann Hewitt; a daughter-in-law, Karen Hewitt; six brothers and four sisters.
