Mabel Teepe Hines Carmody, age 94, of Osage died Monday May 22, 2017, at Osage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Osage.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday June 2, 2017, at the First Congregational Church, U.C.C in Orchard with the Rev. Mike Carmody officiating. Burial will be in the Orchard Cemetery.
Mabel was born April 20, 1923, in Decorah, the daughter of Edward and Pearl (Schoonmaker) Teepe. She graduated from Randalia High School in 1941. Mabel was married to Dell Hines for a short time until his death in 1945. She was united in marriage to Roger Carmody on October 9, 1954 in Preston, Minnesota.
Mabel was employed as a bookkeeper for CO-OP Oil Company in Osage where she retired from. She was a member of the First Congregational Church, U.C.C in Orchard. Mabel enjoyed bowling and participating in flea markets.
Mabel is survived by her daughter, Janet Hilsman of Bella Vista, Arkansas; her son, David (Lauralynn) Carmody of West Union; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons; son-in-law, Dennis Schroeder of Pinedale, Wyoming; and sisters, Joyce Meyerhoff, Elinor Eggers, Sharon (Delton) Lane all of Charles City, Janice Kobliska of Elma and Phyllis Fausnaugh of Mason City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Dell Hines and Roger Carmody; her daughter, Joan Schroeder; and two brothers, David and Raymond Teepe.
