Margaret A. Schneider, 96, of Adams, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 7, 2017, at the Adams Health Care Center.
Margaret was born on her parent’s farm in Mitchell County, Iowa, on June 23, 1920, to Mathias and Emma (Steiger) Rauen. She attended Johnsburg School. In her spare time, she enjoyed baking and cooking, playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends.
On October 15, 1947, Margaret married William Schneider at St. John’s Catholic Church in Johnsburg, Minnesota. They lived on a farm near Adams and moved into town in 1980. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Margaret is survived by her daughters, Carol (Dean) Murphy, Rose Creek, Minnesota, and Joyce Emanuel-Alden (Gordy Alden), Rochester, Minnesota; son, Tom (Carrie) Schneider, Taopi, Minnesota; daughter-in-law, Lee Ann Schneider, Adams; grandchildren, Debbie Blomquist, Austin, Minnesota, Penny Murphy, Austin, Pat (Holly) Murphy, Austin, Chris Emanuel, Hales Corners, Wisconsin, Jenny (Clint) Weiss, Grand Meadow, Minnesota, Jason (Annie) Emanuel, Rosemount, Minnesota, Jason Schneider, McIntire, Iowa, Tom (Katie) Schneider, Jr, Taopi, Melissa Schneider, Rochester, James (Amber) Schneider, LeRoy, Minnesota, Katie (Nate) Baures, Rochester, and Shari Schneider, Adams; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Ryley Blomquist, Logan Murphy, Patrick and Tanner Murphy, Jessica Emanuel, Evelyn Emanuel, Taylor, Cole, Travis, Heidi and Holly Weiss, Cheyanne Schneider, Corbin and Keira Schneider, Liam Baures, and Gracelynn and Claire Schneider; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joseph (Audrey) Schneider, Taopi, and Marvin Simon, Waterloo, Iowa; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William; an infant son, James; son, Duane; infant grandson, Matthew; sisters and brothers-in-law, Bernetta and Joe Mullenbach, Isabell and Jake Rothamel, Martha and Leo Schneider, and Ardella and Reuben Gilles; brothers and sisters-in-law, Art and Rose Rauen and John and Valeria Rauen; and nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 12, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Adams, with Father Swaminatha Pothireddy officiating. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11, at the Adams Funeral Home, with a rosary service at 4 p.m. Visitation will also be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Adams Funeral Home on Wednesday.
