Maydine graduated from Dysart High School and was a helper in the grade school for a number of years. Then she moved to Davenport, Iowa, and worked at the Bendix Corporation in Rock Island, Illinois. While living in Davenport, she attended a Youth For Christ rally at Winona Lake, Indiana, where on July 4, 1958, she realized she was a sinner and that Christ had died for her sin on Calvary’s cross. At that time she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. In 1967 she answered the call of God to become a cashier in the accounting office of the Oriental Mission Society in Greenwood, Indiana.
While working there, she took two or three mission trips to Haiti. Maydine loved serving the Lord and sharing the Gospel with others whether at home or abroad.
In July 1995, Maydine retired and moved to St. Ansgar where she loved attending the Senior Citizens Center, serving at the Good Samaritan Center, and also attending and serving in the St. Ansgar Baptist Church where she loved singing and helping.
In May of 2012, Maydine moved to the Cornerstone Assisted Living home in Mason City and lived there until she was received to her eternal home in heaven on Saturday, March 11, 2017. She was known as a joyful person who loved family, friends, and most of all her Lord. She loved reading the Bible, praying, and attending church, witnessing, singing, and serving the Lord any way she could.
Maydine was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Marie Gonnerman, four sisters: Beverly Kern, Angeline Dwyer, Virginia Gonnerman, and Lorraine Gonnerman; two brothers-in-law: Wentzel Kern and William Dwyer; and two sisters-in-law: Nita and Sheryl.

The family is appreciative of the loving care Maydine received at Cornerstone. She will be greatly missed here but now is enjoying the glories of heaven.
