Died February 14, 2017
Deb Jacobs, age 61, of Osage, died Tuesday, February 14, 2017, at Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage.
A family gathering to celebrate Deb’s life will be planned for spring.
Deb was born September 30, 1955, in Charles City, Iowa, to Dean and Dorothy (Paulus) Heffron. She received her education in Osage, graduating in 1973. Following graduation, Deb was married to her high school sweetheart. Together they had one daughter, Trisha, before their divorce years later.
Deb enjoyed working where she was in contact with a variety of people throughout the day. She worked at Tops Business Forms in Osage for 19 years and then most recently at Grain Millers in St. Ansgar.
Deb bravely battled aggressive cancer for three months before going to her heavenly home. She was being cared for by her sister and brother-in-law, Cherie and Red Merritt, at their home, until just before her passing. Deb enjoyed gardening, working, spending time with family, teaching bible study, praying for and helping those in need around her.
Deb is survived by her daughter, Trisha (Jayme) Sedars and two grandchildren, Micah and Taylor of Mason City; her sisters, Cherie (Red) Merritt and Julie Ackley (Jimmie Bohannon) both of Osage; her niece, Christy (Josh) Willis of Johnston; her nephews, Shawn (Allison) Newhouse of Johnston and Todd Krones of Charles City. Deb leaves behind many loving friends who will miss her shining eyes and big smile.
She was preceded in death by Trisha’s father, Chuck Jacobs; her grandparents; parents; one sister, Kathie McCready; and many aunts and uncles.
