RICEVILLE, IOWA - Bob “Timmy” Timmerman, 93, of Riceville, passed away Feb. 3, 2017, at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage, Iowa.
Friends may call at the Lindstrom Funeral Home in Riceville during the hours of 1-3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2017. Burial will be in Wayne Cemetery in rural McIntire, Iowa.
Bob was born in Riceville, Iowa, on July 25, 1923, to August and Ella Timmerman. He attended local schools and graduated from Riceville High School in 1941.
He was united in marriage to Helen Van de Walker in LeRoy, Minnesota, on August 2, 1944. They lived in McIntire until moving to LeRoy in 1970 where he worked at the LeRoy Coop delivering feed for many years and enjoying visiting with the farmers.
He liked visiting with friends and family, golfing and dancing which he continued to attend dances wherever possible including the Senior Citizen dances in Mason City every Wednesday night until two weeks ago.
He is survived by his children, Gene (Darlene) of Mason City, Iowa and Janet (Greg) Holmes of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota; three grandchildren: Troy, Scott, and Jennifer; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Helen, one infant grandson, Todd, and a brother, Manly.
Lindstrom Funeral Home, Riceville, is in charge of arrangements.
