Died December 2, 2016

Leroy “Roy” Kozlowski, age 86, of Osage, died Friday, December 2, 2016, at the Faith Home in Osage.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 7, 2016, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with Father Raymond Burkle officiating. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home.

Leroy Eugene Kozlowski was born November 30, 1930, in Hegewisch, Indiana, the son of Edward and Anna (Finik) Kozlowski. He attended schools in the Chicago area. He married Iona Jean Smith on April 24, 1949 at St. Vitus Catholic Church in Chicago. In 1955 they moved to the Osage area. Leroy worked for Oliver-White Farm in Charles City for 36 years.

Leroy was a devoted member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was a altar boy in Chicago where he grew up. He refurbished furniture and enjoyed selling those items at his tremendously successful garage sales. Leroy enjoyed puzzles and listening to music. He was devoted to his family above any other interest and lived for their happiness only.

Leroy is survived by his children, Steven (Donna) Kozlowski of Orchard, Sister Reneé (Richard) Mauser of Osage, and Doreen (Mike) Kittridge of Big Lake, Minnesota; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two brothers; and one sister.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Iona in 2015; two granddaughters; two brothers; and one sister.
