Obituary for Evelyn Helen Landherr
Evelyn H. Landherr, age 77, of Austin, died peacefully on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Sacred Heart Care Center.
Evelyn was born to Alban and Kathren (Becker) Hemann on October 29, 1938 in McIntire, Iowa. She graduated from high school. Evelyn married Albert Landherr of Rose Creek on May 20, 1957 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Meyer, Iowa.
She made her home with Albert in Evansdale, Iowa and was very active in the AMVETS Post 31. She was auxiliary president. Later when they moved to Austin, Evelyn was auxiliary president of the V.F.W.
Evelyn enjoyed music and was a member of the St. Nicholas Church Choir in Evansdale. She also loved to bowl and was on several different leagues for many years, she loved to camp and fish during the summer months, and later in life she enjoyed bingo at the V.F.W. in Austin.
Survivors include her husband, Albert Landherr; two children, Steven, Austin, Minnesota, Lori (Don) Boesen, Owatonna, Minnesota; two granddaughters, Amber Boesen (Edward Simmons), St. Paul, Minnesota, Alisa (Rickey) Stuckey, Washington; two sisters, Sally Michels, Austin, Minnesota, Belle Spitz, Osage, Iowa; two brothers, Gervase Hemann, Riceville, Iowa, Clem Hemann, Osage, Iowa; sister-in-law, Linda Landherr, Rose Creek.She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Vincent and Eugene; a sister, Viola; three brothers-in-law: Bernard Spitz, Jerry Michels, and Paul Landherr; five sisters-in-law, Irene Hemann, Donna Hemann, Patty Hemann, Nancy Hemann, and Bernice Hemann.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 am on Friday, October 28, 2016 at Queen of Angels Catholic Church with Father Raul Silva officiating. There will be a 4 pm CCW rosary on Thursday at Mayer Funeral Home followed by a V.F.W. Auxiliary ritual, where friends may call from 4-7 pm and also one hour before the service at the church on Friday. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
