James Leroy “Jim” Davison, age 76, of Osage Iowa, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2016, in Osage.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 29, 2016 at the Osage Alliance Church with Pastor Jim Stern officiating. Burial will follow at Osage Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5:00 - 7:00 pm Friday at Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.
James was born May 18, 1940, in Mason City, Iowa, at Park Hospital, son of Robert and Marian (Heinold) Davison. He graduated from Osage Community High School and attended Wartburg College. James married the love of his life Dorothy Shaw February 4, 1963, and later moved to Minnesota where he worked at TCAAP, Honeywell, Barry Blower along with the Minneapolis Star Tribune and at Berger Transfer.
After retiring, James moved back to Osage. James enjoyed the outdoors and wildlife, umpiring, fishing and working on the farm of his best friend Gary Anderson. He bowled with his family, including winning state championships with his sons.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 28 years Dorothy, his mother and father; brother-in-law, Dean Barker; sisters-in-law, Joyce Shaw, Sharon Shaw and June Edwards.
James is survived by his children: Darlene Donnelly, Elizabeth (Lenny Locke) Davison, Darwin (Lori Hauxwell) Davison, Robert Davison, Sheila (Kraig) Loiselle, Julie (Tony Rodriguez) Davison; grandchildren, Jeremiah, Lynette, Alexandria, Samantha, Jonathan, Nicholas, Rebecca, Brandon, Mariah, AnnMarie, Christopher and Braxton; great granddaughter Kirstin; sister, Charlotte Barker; in-laws, Harley Shaw, Howard “Pete” Shaw, Betty (Herb) Starr, Barb (Leo) Jefferies, Ricky Shaw and Roger Edwards; and several nieces and nephews.
