RICEVILLE, IOWA -- Ethel E. Clapp, 79, of Riceville, passed away at her home on Sunday October 16, 2016, in Riceville.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday October 20, 2016, at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Riceville with the Rev. Scott Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Riceville. Friends may call on Wednesday Oct. 19, 2016, at the Lindstrom Funeral Home in Riceville during the hours of 5 to 8 p.m. and one hour before services at the church on Thursday.

Ethel Elizabeth Clapp was born in Boyd, Iowa, to Julius H. and Fannie M. (Fenner) Drewelow on Feb. 24, 1937. She attended local schools and was a graduate of New Hampton High School in 1955. On Feb. 11, 1966, Ethel was united in marriage to Donald Orville Clapp.

Survivors include a son, Randy and his fiancé Jessica Larson of Emerson, Iowa, daughters, Connie Jenkins and her husband Jeff of Little Cedar, Iowa, Noelle Kramer of Northwood, Iowa, and Darla Clapp of Osage, Iowa. Grandchildren: Cole and MicKensie of Grand Meadow, Minnesota, Cody Kramer of Northwood, Iowa, David Clapp of Charles City, Iowa, Gabriel Kramer of Ames, Iowa, Elizabeth Jenkins of Little Cedar, Iowa, Molly Jenkins of Little Cedar, Iowa, Tristan Clapp of Osage, Iowa and Donald Heideman of Osage, Iowa. Also surviving are two great-grandchildren Madilyn Clapp and Beau Clapp both of Grand Meadow, Minnesota, and a brother Julius (Sue) Drewelow of New Hampton, Iowa, and many nieces and nephews.

Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald in 2001, a son David James Clapp, brothers Walter “Dutch” Drewelow, Stanley Drewelow and sisters Vera Friedman and Lois Eichenberger.
