Keith Allen Neeley
ST. ANSGAR — Keith Allen Neeley passed away on Aug. 17, 2016.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 22, at the United Methodist Church in St. Ansgar with the Rev. Dr. Rhoda Preston officiating and a luncheon following the service.
Burial will be at St. Ansgar City Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21, at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home in St. Ansgar, Iowa.
He was born on July 9, 1945, at the Osage hospital to Viola and Hugh Neeley.
He grew up on two farm sites north of St. Ansgar. He graduated from St. Ansgar High School in May 1963. After high school he worked as an apprentice plumber and delivered milk for Neeley’s Dairy. This is where he met the love of his life, Virginia Allen.
Keith married Virginia on Feb. 2, 1969, at the St. Ansgar United Methodist Church. They were married for 47 years. To this marriage three children were born: daughter, Christine Sue (Neeley) Johnson, daughter Karen Lynn (Neeley) King, and son, Aaron Hugh Neeley. They also had six grandchildren: Emily (Johnson) Kildow, Shayla Heggestad, Alexia Heggestad, Aleah Neeley, Morgan King and Connor King and two great-grandchildren Eloise and Madeleine.
Keith was well known for his jovial personality by all. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing and restoring antique tractors. He loved his dogs!!! He had a compassionate heart and never turned a stray dog away. He got enjoyment out of helping others and watching his grandchildren’s activities. He also loved to be creative with welding, woodworking, painting and using his imagination to express his ideas.
He was preceded in death by his father Hugh Neeley; Mother Viola Neeley; sister, Marcella Gahm; and sister-in-law Julie Zeitler.
He is survived by his wife Virginia Neeley, Daughter Christine (Nicholas) Johnson, Daughter Karen (Brian) King, Son, Aaron (Michelle) Neeley and grandchildren Emily (Dylan) Kildow, Shayla Heggestad, Alexia Heggestad, Aleah Neeley, Connor King, Morgan King, and two great-grandchildren, Eloise Kildow and Madeleine Kildow. His brother Garry (Julie) Neeley and sister Beverly Bartz. Also many nieces and nephews.
Keith will be greatly missed by family and friends.
