Kathy (Meyer) Lang, 63, of Smithville, Missouri, died Wednesday, June 29, 2016, in Omaha, Nebraska.

Kathy was born to Clayton & Rosann (Retterath) Meyer on January 20, 1953, in Osage, Iowa.

She grew up in Austin, Minnesota, and attended Austin High school. She married Gary Wangen in 1970 and raised three children in Oakland, Minnesota.

In 1986, she moved to Des Moines and later Smithville, Missouri, where she married John Lang Jr. on February 14, 1991. They had just celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary this year.

Kathy had many jobs throughout her lifetime and had worked for the past 22 years for LabCorp in the Northland OB/GYN clinic in Liberty, Missouri as a Phlebotomist.

She loved to garden and share the photos of her flowers with others, sometimes even giving some of her flowers to others to grow and enjoy. Kathy loved her grandchildren and participated in any event she could when she visited them or they were in the Kansas City area. She was very proud of all of them and loved to show off their pictures.

Kathy was preceded in death by her brother David Meyer and her father, Clayton Meyer both of Austin.

She is survived by her mother, Rosann Meyer of Austin, Minnesota, and her husband, John Lang Jr., of Smithville, Missouri; her three children: Heidi (Jeremy) Klein of Owatonna, Minnesota, Barbara (Sean) Garrett of Lakeville, Minnesota and Wayd (Amy) Wangen of Stewartville, Minnesota as well as two step-children, John (Amy) Lang III of Runnells, Iowa, and Alecia (KC) Carson of Apple Valley, California and 15 grandchildren and five siblings, Tom (Shawn) Meyer of Palm City, Florida, Jim Meyer of Austin, Christy (Travis) Heickley of La Crosse, Wisconsin, Sue (Rolfe) Schroeder of Dodge Center, Minnesota and Don (Theresa) Meyer of Austin, Minnesota and many nieces and nephews.

She was a dedicated wife, mother, grand-mother, daughter and sister and she will be missed by so many. A private family service will be held to honor her life.
