Herbert A. Sayles Funeral Held Here At United Methodist
Funeral services for Herbert A. Sayles, 73, of St. Ansgar, who died at a Rochester, Minn, hospital December 20, were held December 23 at the St. Ansgar United Methodist church with the Rev. Bruce Wittern officiating.
Herbert A. (Pete) Sayles was born September 15, 1909 in Austin, Minn., the son of Cyrus B. and Gara (Ames) Sayles. He married Marion Floy Rice June 3, 1933 in Austin, Minnesota. Three children were born to them.
Mr. Sayles worked for the Geo. A. Hormel Co. for 38 years. He was an active member of the United Methodist church in St. Ansgar, and also was one of the original members of the St. Ansgar Sportsmen's club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and one sister.
He is survived by his wife, Marlon of St. Ansgar; two sons, Gary of Suisun, Calif, and Jon of St. Ansgar; one daughter, Jill Wedeking of Austin, Minn.; one brother, William Sayles of Austin, Minn.; seven sisters-in-law; 10 grandchildren; one great grandchild; and nieces and nephews.
Burial was in the Rose Creek cemetery, Mower County, Minn, with Rev. Wittern in charge of committal services

Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec 23, 1982 at the United Methodist Church in St. Ansgar for Herbert A. Sayles with Rev. Bruce Wittern officiating. Burial was at Rose Creek Cemetery, Mower County, Minnesota. Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home of St. Ansgar was in charge of arrangements.
Herbert A. Sayles was born September 15, 1909, the son of Cyrus B. and Clara Ames Sayles, in Austin, Minnesota. He married Marion Floy Rice on June 3, 1933 in Austin, Minnesota, and to this union three children were born, Gary, Jen and Jill.
Herbert worked for Hormel for 38 years. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in St. Ansgar. He was also one of the original members of the Sportsman's Club in St. Ansgar.
