William “Bill” August Schroeder, age 57, of New Haven, died Wednesday, January 27, 2016, at Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage.
Funeral services services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 1, 2016, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Osage with Rev. Bryan Lagerstam officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage. Following the funeral service, cremation will take place with inurnment at the Osage Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be given to the William Schroeder Memorial Fund.
William “Bill” August Schroeder was born February 25, 1958, in Osage, Iowa, the son of Rudolph and Dixie (Ketelsen) Schroeder. He graduated from Osage High School in 1976. Over the years, Bill was employed by the Osage Elevator, Helfter’s Turkey Farm, Theis’ Turkey Farm, J & K Construction, Osage Manufacturing, McNeilus, and IMT. In his younger years, he had been a 4-H member. Bill was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. He enjoyed RC monster truck races, tractor pulls, four-wheeling, farm miniatures, playing pool, and camping. Bill especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Bill is survived by his sister, Kristie (Nick) Ortiz, and children, Tonio (Abby) Ortiz and their son, Benny, and Christopher Ortiz of West Des Moines; his brother, Dave (Rhonda) Schroeder of Osage, and children, Lindsay (Jon) Kittleson of Grafton, and Alyssa Schroeder of Cedar Falls; and several other extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Sheri Leah Schroeder; grandparents, Elmer and Gladys Ketelsen, and Alvin and Lillian Schroeder.
