Clarice Volberg Tollefson was born June 6, 1907 at St Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa to Carl Thomas Tollefson and Clara Olivia Lane, the third of their five children.
Found in the 1910 - 1925 censuses living at St Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa:
1910: Carl T Tollefson 38, Clara Oliva Lane Tollefsen 37, Helga M Tollefson 13, Helena L Tollefson 9, Clarice V Tollefson 2.
1915: Clarice Tollefson age 7.
1920: Carl T Tollefson 48, Clara O Tollefson 47, Helga Mae Tollefson 23, Thelma L Tollefson 19, Clarice V Tollefson12, June A Tollefson 1 yr 7 mos.
1925: C T Tollefson 53, Mrs. Clara Tollefson 52, Max Tollefson 28, Thelma Tollefson 24, Clarie Tollefson 17, Jana Tollefson 6.
Clarice married James Melvin Chase on January 16, 1926 at Chicago, Illinois.
The couple had four children: James A, Thomas M, Gerald L and Lane.
Found in the 1930 census at Columbus, Platte, Nebraska: James M Chase 27, Clarice V Chase 22, James A Chase 2, Thomas M Chase 1.
Found in the 1940 census at LaPorte, LaPorte, Indiana: James M Chase 37, Clarice Chase 32, James A Chase 12, Thomas M Chase 11, Gerald L Chase 10, Lane Chase 5, Melvin Chase 68.
Clarice Chase died October 18, 2003 at Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo, Michigan.
She was buried at the Mount Ever Rest Memorial Park South, Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo, Michigan.
