Daniel Mark Sullivan, age 81, of Osage and formerly of Orchard, died Tuesday, December 1, 2015, at the Faith Home in Osage.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 5, 2015, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in New Haven with Rev. Steve Garner officiating. Burial will be at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery in New Haven with a flag presentation by Orchard American Legion Post 641. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with a rosary at 4:15 p.m.
Mark was born July 12, 1934, in Osage, Iowa, the son of Harold and Marie (Schweiger) Sullivan. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School in New Haven in 1952. Mark served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
On September 28, 1963, he married Helen Smith at St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Algona, Iowa. They farmed and made their home in the Orchard area. Mark was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and the Osage Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed all things related to farming.
Mark is survived by his wife, Helen Sullivan of Osage; his daughter, Anne Sullivan and daughters, Madison and Kaitlin of Des Moines; his daughter, Madonna (Greg) Kolakowski and daughter, Chloe of New York, New York; his son, Tim (Jenny) Sullivan and children, Emily, Claire and Joe of Osage; his son, Kevin (Pilar) Sullivan and children, Ryan, Tyler and Alicia of Farmington, Minnesota; his daughter, Colleen (Josh) Byrnes and children, Alexandra, Nolan and Scarlett of Osage; sisters and brother, Dorothy Owen of Monterey, California, John (Carol) Sullivan of Osage, and Mary Clausen of Des Moines.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Jerald Sullivan and Keith Sullivan.
