STACYVILLE, IOWA - Elizabeth "Bep" Hemann, 91, of Stacyville, died Sunday, November 15, 2015, at the Stacyville Community Nursing Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 20, at Visitation Catholic Church, Stacyville. Burial will be in the Visitation Cemetery.
Visitation is scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Visitation Catholic Church with a scripture service at 7 p.m.
Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home of St. Ansgar is in charge of arrangements.

Elizabeth was born January 5, 1924, in Stacyville, Iowa, to Roy and Anna (Seibert) Gilles. She was married to Clarence M. Hemann October 11, 1944, and fulfilled her dream of living on a farm. Mom was a loving mother and grandmother, homemaker, a good friend and great Scrabble player.
She was a member of the Women’s Catholic Order of Foresters, Christian Mothers, a 4-H leader and a Church circle leader. Mom loved to read, play cards and Scrabble and watch Hallmark movies. She so enjoyed having a cup of tea with her sister-in-law Helen and would eat ice cream at any time.
Elizabeth is survived by her children and their spouses: Carol and Jim Dunlay of Woodbury, Minnesota; Wayne and Tama Hemann of Iowa City; Arlene and Bill Ess of St. Anthony, Minnesota; Stan and Kathy Hemann of Mason City; Phyllis and Dan Smith of Des Moines; Pat and Roger Atherton of Mason City; Lori and Mike Bode of Algona; and Tony and Beth Hemann of Highland, Illinois. Her 23 grandchildren: Brent and Patrick Dunlay; Nick and Brien Hemann; Katie Rogers; Sararh Haugen; Rebecca DeChristopher; Quentin and Eric Hemann; Tara Kruckenberg; Maggie Peterson; Molly Atherton; Jesse, Mitchell and Hannah Bode; Elizabeth, John, Joe, Anna Clare, Francie, Jude, James and Mimi Hemann; 16 great-grandchildren: Desmond, Brendan, Elynn, Harper, Auggie, Andrew, Lyza, Anastasia, Isabella, Arianna, Sam, Liz, Reese, Kenna, Devyn, and Declan; three step-grandchildren: Jamie Widen; Derek and Jared Smith; five step-great-grandchildren: Jordan Parsons; Tanner and Abby Widen; Kinnick and Madduz Smith. She is also survived by her brother Paull and his wife Gertie of Waterloo, her in-laws Helen Falada and Irene Hemann, Alfred and Darlene Hemann of Stacyville, Marie and Glenn Borchardt of Mason City, Gloria Gilles of Adams, Minnesota, and Greg Langenfeld of Dunlap, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence; her parents; and eight brothers and sisters.
Memorials preferred to the Stacyville Community Nursing Home or Visitation Catholic Church.
