ST. ANSGAR, IOWA - Elsie H. Eller, 99, of St. Ansgar, died on Wednesday, September 9, 2015, at the Good Samaritan Center, St. Ansgar.

Funeral service will be on Monday, Sept. 14, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar, with the Rev. Raymond Burkle officiating.

Burial will be in the St. Ansgar Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home.

Elsie was born on August 27, 1916, in Meulebeke, Belgium, the daughter of Cyriel and Irma (Vearnewyck) Vervaecke. She came to the United States in 1918 with her family and settled in Mitchell County, Iowa.

She married Albert Kerckhove on June 15, 1936, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Osage. They moved to Lenexa, Kansas, where they operated a dairy farm for 11 years. In 1947 they moved near St. Ansgar, and started farming. Albert died on August 9, 1958. Elsie married G. T. Eller (Jerry) on December 2, 1959, in St. Ansgar and moved to a farm near Hubbard, Iowa. Jerry died July 31, 2003.

Elsie was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; one brother, Albert.

She is survived by nieces and nephews; Betty (David) Malone, Bob (Jan) Vervaecke, Ed (Janice) Vervaecke and Connie (Larry) Fix; step-children, Kay Wiechmann, James Eller and Richard Eller.
