AnnaBelle (Mrs. Glen) Christiansen
Nora Springs, Iowa — AnnaBelle Christiansen, 87, Nora Springs, died Friday, July 29, 2011, at the Nora Springs Care Center.
A funeral service for AnnaBelle will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 2, at the St. Luke Lutheran Church, 101 North Hawkeye, Nora Springs, with the Rev. Dr. Jack Gannett officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 1, at the Sheckler Colonial Chapel, 114 North Hawkeye, Nora Springs. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to service time on Tuesday at the church.
Should friends desire, memorials may be directed to the AnnaBelle Christiansen Memorial.
AnnaBelle Deets was born on January 1, 1924, in Rice, Minnesota, the daughter of Benjamin and Anna (Frosh) Deets. AnnaBelle attended and received her education in the Rock Falls and Cartersville schools, and was salutatorian of the Rock Falls graduating class of 1942.
AnnaBelle was united in marriage to Glen Christiansen on June 18, 1944, in Nora Springs, and to this union three children were born, Cathy, Terry, and Jay. Glen preceded her in death on Feb. 26, 2005. AnnaBelle was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
AnnaBelle was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, the church circle, altar guild, and bowling association, Sunshine Circle, and the IWBA senior league. AnnaBelle enjoyed bowling, golfing, sewing, dancing, cooking and baking.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Cathy Charleston of Pomeroy, Terry (Pat) Christiansen, and Jay (Dianne) Christiansen all of Nora Springs; grandchildren, Cari (David) Weiss, of Urbandale, Rachel (Craig) Lindsay of Waterloo, Stacy (Curt) Johnson, Manson, Brian Charleston of Cedar Falls, Tara (Kell) Kabance of Cedar Falls, Travis (Donna) Christiansen, Trent (Renee) Christiansen, and Kylee and Bailey Christiansen all of Nora Springs; great grandchildren, Dane and Brett Johnson, Reagan and Drew Lindsay, Allison Zierke, Jordan Christiansen, Stefan Hildman, and Cole Christiansen; five step-great-grandchildren; sister Lorraine Krissen of Bloomer, Wis.; many nieces and nephews, and many other extended family members and friends.
AnnaBelle was preceded in death by her parents; husband Glen; eight brothers and five sisters.
