RICEVILLE, IOWA - Luther "Mervin" Isaacson, 79, of Riceville, died on June 1, 2015, at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on June 4 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Riceville with the Rev. Byron Northwick officiating.
Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery south of Riceville.
Friends may call at the Lindstrom Funeral Home in Riceville on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. and one hour before services at the church on Thursday.

Luther “Mervin” Isaacson, age 79, of Riceville, passed away at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage, IA on June 1, 2015.
Mervin was born on August 11, 1935 in Preston, Minnesota the son of Melvin and Lela (Torkelson) Isaacson. He was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith at Henrytown Lutheran Church in rural Preston, Minnesota.
He was a diversified dairy farmer for much of his life, residing near LeRoy, Minnesota for many years and then near Riceville since 1978. Mervin also worked for Donaldson’s factory in Cresco for 21 years until his retirement in 1999 and was an Archer Oil salesman for 31 years.
Mervin married Wanda Ihns on February 16, 1957, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Lime Springs, Iowa. To this union two daughters and three sons were born to them; Cheryl, Kristine, Dean, Daniel and Paul. He was a member of the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Riceville and volunteered time in past years as a member of the Kiwanis, a Howard County DHIA board member, and as a Stacyville Creamery board member.
He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, family, and friends. His hobbies included collecting toy tractors, fishing, listening to polka music, and attending dances.
Mervin is survived by his wife, Wanda of Riceville and children Cheryl of Riceville, Iowa, Kristine of Conesville, Iowa, Dean (Sara) of Madrid, Iowa, Daniel (Robin) of Huxley, Iowa, and Paul (Karla) of Williams, Iowa. Also surviving are his grandchildren: Jennifer, Grant, Cole, Caleb, Perry, Carson, and Porter, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Mervin was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Liola and Deloris Horan, and brothers; Orris, Wayne and Manford.
