MCINTIRE, IOWA - James D. Duryee, 65, of McIntire, Iowa, died Sunday, May 10, 2015, at home.
James was born on July 16, 1949, son of Pearl (Backus) and Gernard Duryee in Osage, Iowa. He attended Riceville schools and graduated from Osage High School. He then enlisted in the Army and served two years in Vietnam. After Vietnam, Jim worked for the international airport in the Twin Cities. After retirement in 2012, he moved back to McIntire. Jim enjoyed spending time with his family and dog, Jonathan.
He is survived by his siblings Ronald of Riceville, Iowa, Wayne of Little Cedar, Iowa, Leonard of Leland, Iowa, Diane Semerad of Riceville, Iowa, Barbara Woolworth of Cresco, Iowa, Donna Wilson of Rochester, Minnesota, and Cherie Landers of Greene, Iowa, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, a sister Katherine, brothers Marvin, Verne, Darrell, and Gordon, and nephew Richard Hahn Jr.
