Jeannette Amanda (Roseberry) Smolik, age 79, of Osage, died Thursday, May 14, 2015, at Osage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Osage.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage with Father Raymond Burkle officiating. Burial will be at the Osage Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Monday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with a rosary at 4:30 p.m.
Jeannette was born November 12, 1935, in Somersworth, New Hampshire, the daughter of Gedeon and Marie Anne (Doyon) Roseberry. She attended St. Martin’s School in Somersworth through eighth grade and received her GED at NIACC in Mason City. On November 26, 1953, Jeannette married Marvin Smolik at St. Martin’s Church in Somersworth. She worked as the supervisor of housekeeping at the Faith Home and Osage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, both in Osage. Jeannette was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Osage V.F.W. Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, gardening, crafts, traveling, having coffee with friends, and spending time with her great-grandson, Tyson.
Jeannette is survived by her children, Steven (Laurie) Smolik of Osage, and Leanne Smolik of Osage; grandchildren, Dayne Smolik, Stephanie Smolik, and Dylan Sheldon; great-grandson, Tyson Smolik; siblings, Rose Zubkus of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Ghislaine Bickford of Rochester, New Hampshire, and Real (Beatrice) Roseberry of Somersworth, New Hampshire.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marvin Smolik in 2014; infant daughters, Suzanne Marie and Mary Louise; and brothers, Eugene, Florian, and Arthur Roseberry.
